No space? No problem!...
You can grow herbs, fruit and vegetables in pots onboard.
One of the first things I envisioned when deciding to live on board, was a little garden and how I could accomplish that on our Happy Wife. Plants generally don't do too well in the sea air but I have had success with limes, lettuce and tomatoes. As far as herbs go, mint, parsley and basil are my faves. We can make our own Mojito's (who doesn't love that?!) and a delicious tomato mozzarella salad with a drizzle of olive oil is stunning on a hot summers day out on the water! Herbs are easy to grow, deliciously yummy, and pretty to look at. It’s also so lovely to have greenery on the boat and they smell amazing too!
How to create a container garden on board
Supplies
Container (I chose a multi planter due to space)
Organic potting soil
Small stones (for drainage)
Signs for labeling
Spray bottle
After you've created you little garden you can label it. If you live on the ocean, spray your plants daily with water. There's nothing better than snapping off these fresh leaves to enjoy!
